Art I With Mrs. Travis
Classroom Procedures
Routines facilitate teaching and learning in the classroom. When procedures become routine it allows for smooth transitions throughout the day, the students will know what is expected of them, and the teacher can spend more time focusing on effective, meaningful, and positive instruction.
The first week of the school year will be designated for introducing and discussing Classroom Procedures. We will discuss the classroom procedures as a large group and will be using role play to develop their understanding.
Other Procedures
BELL
When I need to get the attention of the students, whether it be during group discussion or because the classroom gets too loud, I will ring a bell in order to address the entire classroom.
CLEAN UP
Every Friday will be used to clean up and clean out our lockers. The day will also be used to organize our sketchbooks and attach any loose handouts, worksheets, or rubrics.
MAKE UP TIME
At the beginning of each lesson we will have classwork and homework. The week following the assignments is typically given to students for make up time. Therefore make up time usually occurs every other week. Each student is given the same amount of time missed from class to make the assignment up. If the student does not complete the work during the make up time, verbal reminders from me, the teacher, will stop. The student will be able to make the work up, however, after a week of reminding, it will then be the students complete responsibility.
MISSED PROJECTS
Students who turn an art project in late or choose not to complete an art project for any reason will turn this yellow sheet in with their project or by itself.
